A New Look for Lory

How fun is this???
I am so excited for a little update to this little blog.
It feels so good to freshen things up a bit.

The only problem is...
things have freshened up both professionally AND personally.
My family and I are smack dab in the middle of moving to our new home!
It is so exciting and SO MUCH WORK.
(I know people do it everyday and survive ... I will too ;)

As I write this post, I am sitting on my living room FLOOR!
Yep, no furniture in the house for comfort (except mattresses).
We thought it was easier to sell it online and have people come pick it up... and then...
buy new furniture AND have it delivered to the new house.. ta-da.
Might be the lazy mans way of moving...
but it has been a lot of fun.

SO... very soon...
I will be celebrating my new design with a party of giveaways, treats,
and lots of Diet Pepsi with pebble ice!
Please be sure to come back and celebrate with me.

Thanks to Alexis for sharing her amazing talents.

Student Planner... UPDATED!

I received a sweet email today from a Tpt customer regarding my student planner...
It went like this...

Hi Lory,
Any idea of when you will be updating the planner for next school year. I am starting to prep things for next year and would like to get this one checked off my list.

A couple things went through my mind:
1- I'm so glad she enjoyed it enough to use it again next year
2- Wow!  She is on top of things...
3- Lory... you are drowning!!

This is what my life looks like right now...

Trust me... it looks this way on the main floor, the upstairs, the downstairs, the garage and yep... it even looks rough on my staircases, too!!

Happily... my laptop is still running and charged (because it hasn't been used ;) and I was able to update the Student Planners for 2016-2017.

Thank you sweet friend for allowing me to do what I enjoy doing rather than pack another box.  I look forward to the future day when I will be creating and producing new things for my little kiddos... in my new office!

AND thank you for motivating me and many others to stay on top of things and not procrastinate!!!

Earth Day Celebration

Where is April going?
We have so much to do before testing, however, I enjoy celebrating the simple things in life with the kiddos, too...  So we are reviewing skills AND celebrating Earth Day all week long.
We are going to cover:
place value
fact families
word problems
missing addends
telling time
subtraction and
ABC Order

There are hands on activities for each standard and an independent assignment to complete... good news ... all in a student booklet for easy keeping and organization.
As easy to assemble tri-fold for information.

This cute Mercer Mayer Earth Day story is available on YouTube for the classroom.
Just click the picture for the link.

This is a free Fraction activity that we use sunflower seeds with...

And a fun, free math game board for the celebration!!

We always end the day walking around the school grounds gathering garbage to clean up the school yard. We can pitch in ;)

Donors Choose

Have you ever submitted a project to the website  Donors Choose?
It is a fantastic opportunity for every classroom teacher.
The company's mission statement is this:

We make it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need, moving us closer to a nation where students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education.

If your classroom is needing art supplies, a rug, earphones, books etc. Visit the site.
It will walk you through the entire process step by step.
I think this is so awesome!!  I love seeing companies outside of education recognizing and supporting the needs in classroom around the country AND reaching out to help!
So grateful for Donors Choose!!
