Jelly Bean Math and Spring Break!!!

It's the Friday before Spring Break!!! Yeah... teachers do that too!!

It has been a busy week...
Friday we ended with Jelly Bean Math

During the week it was all poetry.
We took our Cinquain poems all the way through
the editing process and added a bit of art.

We also mastered our 3 digit addition with regrouping.
This little activity was a hit (probably just because colorful eggs were involved;)

Our weather is supposed to be fabulous here in Utah this weekend...
hopefully for the entire week!
Hoping for some R&R with the fam!!

There Was An Old Woman Who Swallowed a Clover

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

I love this time of year... so much to do and cover and celebrate!
I have a substitute each morning this week so I left her
There was an Old Woman Who Swallowed A Clover
and curriculum rotations to do  while I'm gone.

However, I saved Lucky Charm math for my afternoon return!!
It's always a fun, easy, 30 minute math review and snack!

That's my extent of the green holiday in class...
My cute classroom neighbor always makes leprechaun cages and ladders to catch the little rascals.  I'll have to take pics to share with you.

Don't forget your green!! xo

Bugs and Beetles... oh my!

This next week in reading it's all about BEETLES.
Actually it's about poetry but beetles are a big topic.
It is perfect timing here in Utah.
We've been experiencing fabulous 60-70 degree weather
and the kids and bugs are back outside (not that we have bugs inside ;)!!

This week we are going to combine bugs and poetry in our writing and reading.
We don't get enough time to practice this writing type.
I'm using a WRITE ON set called Bugs in the Backyard to help spark some ideas and this POETRY pack to practice a few poetry forms.

I'd love to share... if you would like to try out either product with your kids... leave a comment below with your choice... and if you have any other great resources... please share that too!
I'll choose 2 winners on Friday!!

I also posted a fun book and idea for BEETLES on Facebook... you can check it out here!

Print It and Teach... all year!

I love a quick review...
for an empty 5 minutes, a substitute day, a crazy day...
These PRINT IT and TEACH have helped me many times this year.
I decided, I wanted to help a friend with a crazy moment in their classroom.
If you could use a YEARFUL of PRINT IT and TEACH...
leave a comment with your name and email.
I'll choose a winner Friday!

Congratulations Carolyn Miller!   #13

Through the weekend...
all months are marked down just in case you might need a quality filler ;)
