The Mitten

Today Mrs. Evans needed to be daughter to her father.
My dad has Alzheimer's and is in his final stages.
My amazing mother is taking care of his every need 24/7... but
it is taking a toll on her.
Monday night, my siblings and I decided we needed a quick pow-wow to
assess her needs and dad's.  We made a long term plan and short term plan.

(love my dad!)
One part of the short term planning was Lory spending the following day with dad at the house while mom got out.  It was a nice day for all involved.

I was grateful for this little file...
I had it copied, laminated, cut out and in a "just-in-case" box.
Quickly I was able to provide the sub with ELA, Math, Reading and Art
...all tied to the darling Jan Brett literature.

I was able to be where I really needed and wanted to be...
AND my students still had a great, productive fun day!

If The Mitten is a favorite of yours OR you want to fill your "just-in-case" box
this file might be what you're looking for.

Great Story for a Sub to use and positive thoughts for you and your family!

My heart goes out to you! We're doing the same thing with my mother, only my sister is the full time care giver. Tomorrow is my day to stay with my mom. I wish you and your family the best. It isn't an easy disease.
