File Folder Literacy Centers

12 simple centers are prepared for your students to complete on their own. Each topic contains a hands on activity and independent assignment (found in the student booklet... for easy organization and fewer papers and copying).
Topics covered:
ABC order
Syllables
Nouns
Verbs
Adjectives
Antonyms
Synonyms
Contractions
Prefixes
Suffixes
Compound Words

I use these stations as my Word Work during Daily 5. Each topic has it's own file. Inside the file students find the cover page and hands on activity. They keep their student booklet in their book box. If they finish their assignment before time is up... they read a book in their box. A Punch Card was placed on the back of the student booklet to help the students keep track of topics they have completed.

Winter Brain Break!!

I love the breaks... oh, how I love the breaks, however,
it is frustrating to see how quickly the kids lose progress and skills we've worked so hard on...so...
this year, to go along with my gift...
each student will receive this little goodie.

This booklet contains 24 pages of ELA and math skills including:
synonyms, antonyms, place value, time, ABC order, nouns, verbs, number sense, money and many more.

Decorated with adorable art from Graphics from the Pond.... will the kids even realize they are working hard to retain their new skills.

Print the file off back to back and staple... that's it!
Happy Holidays!!

Full Size page just added for another version!

A Word Family a Week

These were one of my first products posted on TpT...
and they are still a favorite.

I made them to help a lower 2nd grade class I had years ago...
They have been used many times since!

The first photo is linked to a FREE week.
They are patterned after each other so the students become familiar with the routine and increase their confidence and reading skills.

Each week is sold individually... or
bundled into 3 different sets.

Math Station Break Down... So Simple!!

I have been asked to show pictures of my math stations.
I totally understood because I am a visual learner myself.

Each month has 12 stations.
3 in each of the critical areas.
Each station also includes the list above.

That may start to sound confusing... but it's not.
Each of the 12 stations are VISUALLY grouped also.
The specific station above (Comparing Numbers) LOOKS like a group that belongs together. Each piece has the Pilgrim  man and woman!!
So if you mix up the lamination pieces... no big deal...
just find the similar match.

This addition station has leaves...

Telling Time... tepees...

I have many other posts on my blog...
Click here for another broken down version.

1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade are available.
