Another month of Bright Ideas...
I love learning from so many fabulous bloggers.
2nd grade is all about hands-on math and manipulatives.
My Bright Idea tip is a quick and easy manip management for your math stations.
I started this a few years ago and never looked back ;)
I started this a few years ago and never looked back ;)
Whether your stations or centers are stored in a box, bag or drawer
add:
a white board
a dry erase marker
an eraser and
box of dice and transparent chips
Students will have all they need to solve
a difficult problem or illustrate a word problem
and
Providing a small container of dice and transparent chips offer your kiddos
the tools they might need to complete a game or activity without needing to roam the room looking for tools or interrupting you for assistance.

Do you store them ready to go like that? Like one for each student? Some math programs come with these little kits ready to go... I never thought about making my own! Great idea!

Thank YOU for sharing this idea! I'm taking the dive into guided math groups this year and want to make sure my friends at stations are actively engaged! Thanks, again! =)

Hi ladies. The photo above is an actual math station box (I have 12 of them). I always have these tools in each of the 12 boxes before I add my math stations each month.
