Literacy Centers for Daily 5

12 simple centers are prepared for your students to complete on their own. Each topic contains a hands on activity and independent assignment (found in the student booklet... for easy organization and fewer papers and copying).
Topics covered:
ABC order
Syllables
Nouns
Verbs
Adjectives
Antonyms
Synonyms
Contractions
Prefixes
Suffixes
Compound Words
Plurals

I use these stations as my Word Work during Daily 5. Each topic has it's own box. Inside the box students find the cover page and hands on activity. They keep their student booklet in their book box. If they finish thier assignment before time is up... they read a book in their box. A Punch Card was placed on the back of the student booklet to help the students keep track of topics they have completed.

Presidents Day Freebie

I wanted to do some writing today with my kids after completing our President's Day activities.
I thought we needed another opportunity to work with a Venn Diagram.
I made this page for our portfolio with the patterned picture on the back for fast finishers.
Happy President's Day!!

Presidents Day Special

I hope you all had a fabulous Valentine's Day.
As I'm sitting at my plan book this morning...I'm realizing that Monday is a HoLidAy!!!
Looks like Tuesday we will be discussing President's Day.
Last year this set of rotations/centers took up most of the day.

This file celebrates George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. It was created as a rotation / station type activity with a student booklet for independent assignment. Hands on centers include reviewing skills such as: ABC order, Syllables, Money, Making words, Diagraphs, Symbols, Predictions, Graphing, Contractions, Informational writing, Measurement, Sentence scrambles and Letter writing
A small booklet for each president is also included inviting the students to illustrate the president's achievements and accomplishments.

1- Abraham Lincoln Poster
1- George Washington Poster

I put the 80+ page file on sale for $4.00 this weekend if you're interested in a full day of Presidential fun with your students!!! Happy weekend.

Is it sick and wrong that I updated my Lucky Charm Math on Valentine's Day?
Ashley Hughes made the cutest St. Patrick Day Clipart and I HAD to put it to good use ;)
